The Makeup Show NYC 2011

The Makeup Show NYC 2011

On Saturday, The Makeup Show NYC kicked off with a Blogger Preview. I was so excited to sit among some of my favorite beauty bloggers. I felt so official and super blessed. About 280 blogger requested press passes and only 80 were invited! I was one of the 80! Woot woot!

James Vincent, the Director of Education and Artist Relations for The Makeup Show walked us through all of the new product launches (most of which were in a huge tote bag waiting for us!). He was hilarious! I couldn’t stop laughing, which was annoying because I was trying to take notes and photos.

The blogger preview was great, in addition to learning about all the new exciting products, YouTube pioneers Koren Zander of Enkore Makeup and Elessa of Pursebuzz made an appearance. They are super nice. After the preview, the weekend kept getting better.

Once the Blogger Preview ended, New York Groove, a gallery of live art was in full effect. There was an open bar, live demonstrations and some of my favorite beauty bloggers. Oh and a live marionette show! Obvis it was a great time.

The Marionettes!

The actual show was Sunday and Monday and, basically, amazing. I kept having to remind myself that I was working and I couldn’t just wander around with my mouth agape.

That’s my new makeup artist friend!

But it was hard not to! Makeup artists like Sam Fine (he beats Iman and Vanessa Williams’ face), Reggie Wells (Oprah!) and Crystal Wright were at the show giving presentations, seminars and live demos. And oh, the products. Brands like Make Up For Ever, Eve Pearl, Temptu, MAC, Inglot, Stila,NARS (this was the brand’s first New York show, ever) Kett Cosmetics, Embryolisse, Youngbloog Mineral Cosmetics, Iredale, Dermalogica, Yaby Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin and Yves Saint Laurent showed off their latest and greatest products. Crown Brush had brushes at hugely discounted prices, and Ruby Kiss had a great deal on lashes so those booths were cray cray!

One of my favorite discoveries was Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. I have been anxiously awaiting getting the products in my hands and when I did it was heeeeaven. I further fell in love with the brand when makeup artist Rebecca Casciano airbrushed my face. My skin looked sooo good! I want her to make me that pretty everyday!

Rebecca and I! Isn’t she the cutest?

Random, but the other lady at the OCC booth did my mom’s hair at her Estroven photoshoot!

I had such an amazing time at The Makeup Show. Everyone was so helpful and so ready to educate. It was great to be able to perfect my craft among those I respect and admire.

If you are an aspiring makeup artist, beauty blogger and even just a product junkie, you should really look into attending the show.

    The Absent Game

Among me and my husband we’ve owned much more MP3 players through the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (basic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few ages I’ve settled down to one line of players.

    The Ships’s Voyages

I believe technologies just makes it worse. Now there’s a channel to never care, now there wouldn’t become a possibility for them to find.

I believe there may perhaps become a couple of duplicates, but an exceedingly useful list! I have tweeted this. Quite a few thanks for sharing!
