13 Sep Backstage Beauty at #NYFW: Jason Wu
When I spoke with Suzi Wiess-Fischmann, Co-Founder of OPI about her collaboration with designer Jason Wu for his Spring ’12 collection during New York Fashion Week, she was tightlipped.
Now, I am happy to share the deets, not just on the nails, but the makeup the models wore as well.
Diane Kendall worked with MAC to create the look for the models. She was inspired by, “Fifties and nineties pop art… inspired by the [graffiti] artist KAWS.”
Keep reading to see the products MAC and OPI sent down the runway.
On The Face:
Studio Finish Concealer- perfects skin only where needed
Blot/Pressed- applied over the center of the face for a polished effect
Silver Dusk Iridescent Powder- dusted above the cheekbones, over bridge of nose, and inner corners of the lower lashes for highlight
Cubic Powder Blush- blended over the lower apples of cheeks with 129 Brish
On The Eyes:
Blacktrack Fluidline- applied with 210 Brush with precision through the upper lashline with only a minute extension at the outer corners
MAC Pro Gloss Texture- dabbled over eyelids for a soft sheen
On The Lips:
Redd Lip Pencil- contours and defines the lip
Scarlet Ibis Lipstick (available Spring/Summer 2012) applied all over the entire lip
MAC Pro Acid Orange Pigment- patted over the lips with 219 Brush to finish
Now, about the nails.
Models at Jason Wu wore MonSooner or Later (OPI Classics), a bright orangey-red on their hands. The boldly colored nails, acted as an eye-catching accessory that complemented the beautiful clothes. On toes, models wore Samoan Sand (OPI Classics), a soft pink-hued nude.I am loving this! They look like J.Crew catalog models with the matching tips and lips!
Are you?
