It is often said that art imitates life. So I am wondering if perhaps that is the reason that bugs are having a major moment right now.

First, the Hollister in Soho closed because of a bedbug infestation. Then, we got word that the Abercrombie and Victoria Secret also had to close. It seems that those bedbugs are doing some damage in Manhattan because now the Elle offices, on the 44th floor of the Hachette Filipacchi building at 50th and Broadway, had to close.

Bugs just aren’t all over Manhattan either, they are all over the fashion scene as well. Look at these tights created by a Parisian brand Les Queues de Sardines by M+O. This is kind of creepy to me, especially because there could possibly be tights in Elle’s fashion closet that look like this with actual bugs.

 

Remember Jessica with the flylashes? Yup, she is contributing to the bug buzz as well.
