It isn’t a secret that I struggle with what to wear when it comes time to be conservative for church, yet maintaining my sense of style.

I know I vowed never to change my outfit for anyone, but do you ever feel like you have to dress down a little so you won’t be the only one dressed up?

I felt like that today when I put my Rodarte for Target lace dress on. I was super excited when it was re-released in the designer collection to celebrate Target’s 5th anniversary of Go International. I missed it the first time it was on, and was super excited to snatch it up.

I couldn’t wait to wear it.

But it looked like lingerie.

So I paired it with a leather jacket to tone it down a bit. But wouldn’t you know it was burning up in church and I couldn’t take the jacket off because I didn’t have the appropriate bra on? Smh…

My style isn’t too loud.

The more I think about it, the more I think people should dress up more. That way when someone is dressed up, for seemingly no reason, it isn’t such a shock.

That, or I need to live in a bigger, more stylish city.
