Happy Mother’s Day to the Most Stylist Woman I Know–My Mama!

My mother always tells people that I help her get dressed but the truth is she helped me.

I came out the womb stylish. Even when my mother was pregnant, she was rocking heels and capes, none of that front paneling (or whatever it is) for her!

So obviously, I couldn’t wait to develop my own style. I was barely walking when I would try to wear her heels around the house. When makeup piqued my interest I was, again, way too young but I was allowed to wear the clear Wet-N-Wild lipsticks with some clear nail polish. Perhaps, I am making up for lost time with my lipgloss and nail polish addiction?

I couldn’t realize it at the time, but my mother was teaching me style and grace by making sure I acted age appropriate.

Now, that I am older, I see that wasn’t all my mother taught me. I know the value of being able to shop in the best and worst of places– and still look amazing. I know that it is better to have a few nice things, that fifty-lven cheap pieces.

Best of all she taught me that I can achieve anything I put my mind too. To be quite honest, I can achieve anything with her on my team.

My mother is my best friend, my style consultant, my PR person, my manager and biggest fan all wrapped up in a Diane von Furstenburg dress.

Though we shouldn’t need Hallmark to tell us to make our mamas feel special, I just wanted her to know that I appreciate her and her selflessness. When people tell me I look just look you, I appreciate it, but I really hope I have your good heart, too.
