Sometimes one of the hardest things in life is to just be still. Not just physically still, but emotionally/spiritually still.

You may feel like you deserve this or you don’t belong where you are, but if you don’t fuss and just sit still, sometimes– actually all the time– things work out better than you could have ever imagined.

If you just sit still.

I hope I don’t sound like I’m preaching but this week is one of those weeks where everything came together perfectly. Things that I have prayed about for months, I see starting to come together.

I can’t lie and say I didn’t get upset when an opportunity didn’t work out, but I tucked in my pride and kept slaving away over my MacBook. I kept working because I knew something great was coming– it had too.

And now, I am prepping for New York Fashion Week where I will be backstage reporting on some of my favorite designers.

I don’t mean to be so heavy on a Friday night, but I was amazed writing out my gratitude list last night (I try to write 10 things I’m thankful for every night) how great this week was.

Essence named me a ‘Fab Fashion Blogger,’ I started blogging daily for VIBE Vixen (ps. Jennifer Williams retweeted my review for Lucid Cosmetics, ahh she read it), and I wrote my first piece for the newly renovated Huffington Post Black Voices.

Plus, all this banging on the keyboard and my nails still haven’t chipped a week later!

So be encouraged.

And just sit still.
