You should know up front that I love Kanye West. He can do no wrong in my eyes.

The Taylor Swift incident? He shouldn’t have snatched the mic from her, but that’s Kanye. 808s & Heartbreak? Maybe you had to have your heart broken, but it makes sense to me.

Everything that ‘Ye does is so passionate and it’s hard not to be inspired. I still listen to Graduation all the time for that very reason.

Much like his freshman album College Dropout, Dw by Kanye West (named after his late mother Donda West) is so passionate, you see can see how hungry he is for his dreams. But he still has room to grow.

And when his dream is attacked, he lashes out (like a small child, but still)– rightly so. This is what he had to say to those who doubt his abilities as a designer:

“This is my first collection. Please be easy. Please give me a chance to grow. This is not some celebrity s—. I don’t f— with celebrities. I f— with the creatives in this room, the amazing people who spend every day of their life trying to make the world a more beautiful place.”

Mr. West does everything he does big, he doesn’t do anything halfway. I mean, showing your first collection during Paris Fashion Week with Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo in the front row is major. It’s all or nothing with him. And he believes in himself to pull it off. I can respect that.

I also, can allow him his time to grow as a designer and perhaps choose a better tailor and fabrics more appropriate to the season he’s creating for.

Much like his musical success, it took Kanye five albums before he not onlyclaimed the throne but told you to watch it.

So, I’ll be watching him as a designer because he followed his dreams in a  huge way. Besides, anyone who can step out on faith like that, is already a success.
