08 Dec 7 Stylish Characters on TV Right Now
Sometimes, while I write at night, I like the TV on for company. But I always end up watching more than writing. I find myself more caught up in trying to get a full body scan of the character’s outfit than following the plot line, usually.
And I have a list of favorites that I like to watch whenever they are on the screen. Feel like humoring while I share my faves to watch on TV right now?
1. Jessica Day, The New Girl
Full disclosure: I have a total girl crush on Zooey Dechanel. Therefore, I will watch just about anything that she’s in. The New Girl is no exception. I love her character– Jessica Day’s– quirky style. Especially all the flirty dresses in bold colors and endless wardrobe of cute flats.
2. Caroline Channing, 2 Broke Girls
A couple weekends ago, I randomly started watching 2 Broke Girls one night when I couldn’t sleep. Caroline Channing is an “uptown trust fund princess,” who lost all her money when her father went to jail after a Ponzi scheme. I love her because, not only is her last name Channing, she shows how to make atinnnnny wardrobe work. She re-wears everything all the time and shows us how to rework something over and over.
ps- Did you know I was named after a TV character? Channing Colby, on The Colbys, a Dynasty spin-off. I’m sure she was a stylish Channing, too :-p
3. Renee Perry, Desperate Housewives
Gabrielle Solis used to be my favorite to look at on Desperate Housewives and then Lynette’s bestie from New York, Renee Perry moved onto the lane. I love her age appropriate yet never dull sense of style. That hair! And the accessories! Sigh
I’ll miss them.
4. Zoe Hart, Hart of Dixie
I have to admit that I am having a hard time believing in Rachel Bilson as a doctor in this series, I take her style quite seriously. I love watching just to see how the scenes will be styled. Zoe looks cute even in chucks, a tank and a scarf wrapped around her head.
5. Blair Waldorf
It really isn’t a secret here how I feel about Blair Waldorf’s style. I could poetically wax on and on. Oh, wait. I did. And you guys seemed to agree.
Did you see Monday’s episode? 🙁
6. Kourtney Kadashian, Kourtney and Kim Take New York
So, I guess because Kourtney and Kim Take New York is a ‘reality’ show, I shouldn’t count Kourtney as a character but she is, honestly, the only reason I watch. Kim and Lurch (I definitely wrote that like it was actually his name) irk my soul with their shananigans. At least Kourtney always looks cute and has really good accessories.
7. Denise Huxtable, The Cosby Show
Now, I realize that this is not a new show, so let’s say Denise is an honorary character in my Fall TV line-up. But that Denise was a trendsetter wasn’t she? With her menswear, harem pants and that haircut Rihanna was sporting not too long ago? Every time I catch an episode of The Cosby’s I see something I want to try courtesy of Denise.
Sooo what do you think? Did I name any of your favorites? Did I leave anyone out?
