Dreams Do Come True: Meet Soap Cartel’s Dayana Ariza

1. How did you know this career was the path for you? 

I started making soap several years ago and just couldn’t stop. That passion turned into a weekly weekend ritual and that in turn turned into a business; when I realized people actually loved the products I was creating.

2. How much of your beauty ideal is in your product? 

I would have to say all of it! I wanted to create products that were natural, good for you & good for the environment. Products that didn’t claim to be natural but that actually were. You feel the results soon as your skin touches a Soap Cartel soap bar.

3. How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is a mixture of vintage/classics, and a bit of modern all resulting in an effortless look. Does that make sense? It sure does in my head.

4. Do you have any style icons? Whose style do you covet? 

I definitely do have a few style icons whose style I covet such as Audrey Hepburn’s elegance; I also love Halle Berry’s laid back approach to daily wear, and Jennifer Aniston’s demure sexiness.

5. Must have beauty product to make you feel pretty? 

A great moisturizer is a must and I never leave home without mascara & lip gloss.

6. If I peeked in your bag right now, what kind of bag would it be and what are five items I would find?

I’m currently using a Chloé <em “mso-bidi-font-style:=”” normal”=””>Marcie Messenger shoulder bag, the perfect bag for me as I’m always on the go. Five items you would surely find are L’Eau de Chloé as I’m fascinated by the scent, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black, my iPhone of course, Tarte lip gloss in “glisten”, and last but not least one of my favorite products in the Soap Cartel arsenal- Organic Shea Butter in Sweet Bay Rose to keep skin glistening and nourished at all times.

7. Any advice for girls chasing their dreams? 

My best advice would be to be patient; that’s the best pearl of wisdom. Nothing can be accomplished overnight! Everything takes hard work, dedication, research, and most of all patience and belief in yourself. Belief in what you are trying to accomplish no matter what anyone says, or what obstacles you may encounter along the way. Have a list of things you need to get done in order to achieve your goal(s) and make sure you get them done. Cross them out as you go along and when you look back you will see all that you have achieved throughout the process, pat yourself on the back and then keep going.
