Guest Post: Get Beyonce’s Barely There Makeup with Beauty & The Beat

Channing’s enjoying her time across the pond, but she loves you guys so much that she’s keeping the party going on Channing in The City by sharing fab guests posts with you all. I’ve been a fan of the blog for a while, now, so when she tapped me on the shoulder for a guest post, I was honored. I hope my beauty tips give you a little glamspiration.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the barely-there makeup look. You know what I mean right? That fresh-faced look where it looks like you’re not wearing makeup, but your skin is so glowing and looks so flawless that one can’t help but think “Surely, she’s wearing something on her skin!”

Beyonce is the queen of getting this look right! I have seen her glowing and looking like she just woke up with a perfectly beat face and effortlessly chic hair, but that’s not always the case. (Even though her natural
beauty is sick-o-ning!)

Some women just got it like that and for the rest of us, there are makeup tips and techniques that can help us fake it till we make it. Here are a few tips on how you can achieve the barely there makeup look for yourself.

Face

  • Add an even coat of makeup primer to a clean moisturized face.
  • Depending on the amount of coverage you desire a tinted moisturizer might be the way to go for a natural finish. If you want more coverage apply your foundation using a large fluffy brush for more dispersed, lighter coverage.
  • Next, apply a peachy blush to the apples of your cheeks. For an even smoother look try a cream blush or use a peach-toned cream eyeshadow. Be sure to blend!
  • Add concealer to problem areas and blend
  • Finish with a loose translucent powder to set the look and minimize shine.

Eyes

  • You want to keep your eye look as simple as possible. Pay close attention to your natural skintone and look for shadow colors that are a close match. You can go matte or shimmery. If you want more of shimmery look opt for champagne colors and warm browns and neutrals.
  • Apply the eyeshade to your lids and take it up to the crease, and you’re good to go. If you want to further define your eye, add a flesh-toned shadow to the crease and blend.
  • Lightly line your eyelids with adark kohl and follow this with two coats of mascara.

Lips

  • Instead of opting for lipstick, try a lip tint for a more subtle look. This will give lips a natural looking sheen. If you want more pigmentation, go for a neutral lip stain.

Follow these steps and you’re sure to pull-off this glamorous trend.

Ciao Bellas,
