26 Feb I Heart Nail Art
Me and Sally Hansen go waaaaay back. When I was younger my mother didn’t want me to look older than I actually was (oh, the irony) and I wasn’t allowed to wear color on my nails. Or lips. I guess that’s a good thing when I think about how grown some of the little girls I see are. And now? I swear I’m making up for lost time now with the amount of nail polish that I own. The only thing that I was allowed to wear was the old school Sally Hansen Hard As Nail base/top coat. Know the one I mean?
I still keep a bottle around for nostalgia’s sake.
So when Sally Hansen sent this batch of goodies to my door and told me to go crazy making nail art, I was all, heck yes!
I heart Sally Hansen and doubly, the fun that I had creating this look I’m rocking on my nails. I have been itching to try the “Love Letter” Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips for quite some time now, and considering that February is the month of looooove, I thought it would be perfect. To accent my strips, I painted one nail black and used a nail art pen in pink to draw a little heart. I did the same on my pinky but with pale pink polish and used a black nail art pen to draw the heart. But because I’m right handed, and did the drawing with my left, it looks a little wonky.
Want to hear something random? My nails match my bedding. My comforter would be the “Love Letter” and the pinks would be the hot pink sheets. So many I was recreating my room/Pinterest project from my subconscious and didn’t even know it? But it makes me feel good. I like looking down at my nails on the keyboard. It makes me want an actual love letter, too.

I prefer long nails to short ones so i don’t know if it would look as nice, but we’ll see!! I like the hearts on your nails and totally understand the whole “left hand, right design” issue. For future reference, you can take a piece of scotch tape, cut the design you want out of it, place it on your dry polished nail and then fill it in. Your nails will come out perfect everytime!!

My nails are currently in terrible shape, thanks two years of acrylic overlay and gel manicures. 🙁 So, my nails are currently naked and sore, and I’m just trying to keep them moisturized and get them back to a healthy (and pretty) state. I am thinking about trying out nail strips though, IF I can manage to apply them correctly.
Your nails are ALWAYS bomb, Miss Channing! I hope that New York is getting better and better. I know that it is exhausting, but New York is nowhere near prepared for Miss Channing! 😀
