If ever I was an outfit, this look is what I’d be. A bunch of stuff that doesn’t really go: polka dots, sequins, big necklace, over-the-knee socks, studded booties, topped off with a cape.

I absolutely loved this outfit. I ventured to the Target in Harlem over the weekend and almost lost my mind. Number one, there was still Prabal Gurung for Target items but nothing in my size and the sweatshirt was no where to be found. Number two, the women’s department was really nice. Like really nice. I found a couple things that I can’t wait to wear, including this polka dot top. In my opinion, what makes this special is the color combo. Very unexpected but totally welcome in my too-small-and-already-stuff-closet.

I treated it like a neutral. Wait, I don’t know what I don’t consider a neutral because I was going to say the same of this sequin skirt. I liked this outfit so much, I wore it to a fancy party. And looking at these pictures I wish I would have been more confident because I think the fact that I’m different works for me, instead of against me.

And the sequins and polka dots? Gives you something to remember me by. Ugh. Next time, right?

I just think I should tell you, expect to see this shirt a lot, I almost put it on again this morning, like I didn’t just wear it. You know how I do when I love something. Oh, and don’t judge my hair. This was after the rain.
