21 Mar 50 Shades of Blue for Springtime
I have to tell you, I love wearing silk (see every single post with me wearing that Blythe blouse). It makes me feel like such a lady. Like an adult. So when I saw this silk top in TJ Maxx, it was love at first site. I love the billow-yness of it–did I just make up a word? I loved the color, I’m having a blue moment. Then I had an even better thought, why not get this top in a large and wear it as a dress? It could be like a fancier t-shirt dress. I immediately cut to thoughts of me sitting at brunch wearing in with a top knot once it warms up.
Wait. I’m leaving out crucial information, did you guys know that TJ Maxx has this section called The Runway? This section is where are the high end designer stuff is. Whenever I would read Saucy Glossie’s blog or see those commercials, I’d think that someone was trying to get one over on me because I never, and I mean never saw those kinds of designer names for less at the TJ Maxx at home.
When I was coming up the escalator and saw that sign, I was like a kid in a candy store. Though, instead of grabbing one of everything in my size, I showed this new thing I’m learning called self-control. I allowed myself a few really cute things that I’m sure you’ll be seeing soon enough, like this silk improvised silk t-shirt dress. This New York rent is not a game. But now that I know that I can come to TJ Maxx and rack up some of my favorite designer brands for almost half the ticketed price? Oh yeah. I’m there (like swimwear).
Have you been in TJ Maxx lately? Have you shopped in The Runway section? Oh, and want to hear about this cool promotion TJ Maxx is doing right now? You can submit your look (head to toe, TJ Maxx, we are #MaxxScouts, after all) for chance to win a $500 gift card.

Posted at 13:33h, 23 MarchMe too! And girl, this dress was giving me some serious static cling, I had to stand in a very specific way or else I would have looked like I was wearing ling-ger-ree!
