I know everyone likes to consider their best friends the most amazing things since quilted Chanels, but I was really blessed with great ones. People who will send me photos from the fitting room to help pick out their outfits, allow me to accompany them as they update their wardrobes for fall and most recently, take their strands into my hands.

Serena, my future lawyer, had pretty light dyed hair that had was in recovery from previous dye jobs. She figured with her birthday coming up, it was time to take on a more sophisticated, even color all over.

She was dye-ing for a new look. Hehehe, get it?

Enter Clairol Professional Classic collection.

Armed with the lightest gold, neutral blonde shade, Classic Sunlit Brown, a mixing bowl, a brush, something for her edges so I didn’t get dye all over her head, a pink towel turned cape, a couple clips and an apron for myself, Arianna’s living room turned into Salon de Channing.

My resident beauty girl at work, Val, prepped me beforehand. Telling me to cover her edges, divide the hair into four sections, and after applying the color to each part, comb the color through for an even distribution. So that’s just what I did.

The color had to sit for 30 to 40 minutes so we all had dinner together and catch up on a ratchet TV. I guess everyone was nervous about how Serena’s hair would turn out because right after I washed it, Arianna and her sister, both couldn’t stop touching her hair. “It’s so soft,” they kept saying. Serena, too.

The formula in the Clairol Professional Classic collection boasts of being 84% more conditioning then the leading professional with 61% more shine. Serena’s hair looks really good if I may say so myself. Like, really good.

I think we should make Salon de Channing a thing. As part of the new grown-up Serena for her personal new year, we are doing a bit of a makeover of sorts. She’s allowing me to give her a new look for her new hair–that I’ll show you next week.
