Y’all.

Nothing annoys me more than rainy New York. Especially after a fresh blowout. To be honest, I swear this only happens when my air is clean. No one cares when I have that filthy top knot, but the minute I start feelin’ myself with clean hair, New York likes to ruin it.

I used to be of the mindset that rain meant a new beginning or something new was on the way. Sounds silly but rain marked some of the most important days in my life: prom, high school graduation, moving into my college dorm, the night I met my future sistahs/BFFs, and college graduation.  And you know how it goes in fashion, three of anything is a trend.

Wearing: 3.1 Philip Lim for Target Sweatshirt, Macy’s Faux Fur Hood Vest, Forever 21 Faux Leather Skirt, American Apparel Over-the-Knee Socks, Zara Boots (on sale, now!)

Now, rain is met with an eye roll. I don’t even get excited about wearing my rain boots any more. You know what makes it so bad? New Yorkers act like this is some new phenomenon and no one knows how to act, despite this being something that happens pretty regularly, since, I don’t know, the beginning of time.

And again, it ruins my hair. Hence the hood. I will say though, that the weather completely reflected my mood considering that by the time I was leaving for Thanksgiving break, I was ready for some space from the city.

I feel recharged, though. Being home was just what I needed–despite the stinky weather. How was your break?
