I did the unthinkable the other day after too much champagne.

I mean, I knew it was coming. The first time I saw her, I just knew. Add in the bubbles and I was a goner.

I felt like I had dreamed about this moment long before my hands had even touched her.

When I slide her over my shoulders, I wanted to break out into Drake’s perfectly-penned “Unthinkable.”

You give me a feeling that I’ve never felt beforeeeeee. And I deserve it. I think I deserve it.

And I did.

I’ve thought a lot about this moment. It all started at Justine’s. I said I wanted to do something BIG to commemorate my year anniversary as Channing in the City.

It’s becoming something that’s impossible to ignoreeeeeeeee. And I can’t take it. 

When I was in Paris, I wanted her. So. Bad. 

But she wasn’t available. So I settled on Celine as a consolation prize. The nerve of me not to just wait for her like I promise myself. I should have waited.

I pushed anyway (there’s a message here). I was denied in Celine. Remember that? Denied in Paris?

I distinctly remember Stephanie taking me aside saying that she thought it was really graceful of me that I didn’t get upset, or be mean and act bratty because I didn’t get my way.

Sure, I was embarrassed. But moment of honesty? That Celine didn’t have my heart. I didn’t love her. I liked her enough, sure. I wanted to be able to say I bought a Celine in Paris, but truthfully, she wasn’t it for me.

I was wondering maybe, could I make you my baby? If we do the unthinkable would it make us look crazy? If you ask me I’m readyyyyy. 

The last day of my mom’s visit, she treated Arianna, Serena, and I to brunch at Brasserie Les Halles. Described as, “a typical Parisian brasserie serving fresh and simple dishes of France’s everyday cuisine,” it was the perfect precursor for what was about to happen.

I knew that Chanel had a small jersey classic flap 2.55 bag in bright, cobalt blue in its Spring Summer 2014 collection. I knew that I had spoken it into existence. I just wanted to touch it.

That was what I suggested anyway, when we headed to the Chanel on 5th and 57th for a little post-brunch window shopping.

We walk into the store. I don’t see anything blue. I don’t see anything from the Spring Summer 2014 collection at all, actually. And no one greets us.

Landi steps onto the floor and into Arianna and I’s direct line of sight. “Are you looking for something?” she asked. “Actually, yes. A bright blue classic flap.” She points to something that’s not the right shade of blue. Then another.

No and no.

“It’s online right now, it’s part of the…” I stammer as I try to pull it up on my phone. “Ah,” she said and directs me to a iPad with the latest collection.

Low and behold, the bag is behind a secret wall compartment. Only two are left in stock.

The woman next to me had a wad of cash out and was ready to make it rain at the register, while I was a little more pensive about my purchase. Though I had set aside the money a while ago, and knew that I wanted it, it’s a totally different thing when it comes to handing over your card.

Arianna took pictures of me and her. Serena asked how do I care for the material. My mom admitted we looked like we belonged together.

My heart was literally pounding. I felt like I was having a hot flash.

Before I knew it was I was handing over my card and Landi was offering us (more) champagne.

Her name is CiCi. Short for Channing in the City or Channing’s Chanel–depending on my mood.

I own a Chanel. I might have skipped out of the store.
