I landed in New York City at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning. On the cab ride from John F. Kennedy International Airport, my driver thought it would be appropriate to talk on the phone, using bluetooth, through the speakers of the car. I heard the entire, screaming match of a conversation.

He screamed ‘NO TIP?!” at me when I got out of his cab.

I set my alarm for 10:30 a.m. so that I could quickly shower and be out of my apartment by 11 a.m.

If ever there was a day that I needed to rally and pull myself together quickly, it’s today.

I was in California for a super intense, but amazingly helpful workshop on media training. I was grateful to attend and thankful for all the inspiration that I left with. I forgot how much I loved blogging. I forgot how much I loved making videos. Remember when I would do weekly videos?

Yeah?

Our voice and on-camera coaches found video clips I did two years ago (plus Bermuda) and played them in front of the class to be critiqued. It’s not as bad as it sounds–really fun actually.

Anyway, my point is, I’m tired.

But I can’t even look tired, much less feel that way.

Insert my standby Tibi clutch. I quickly filled it with the essentials I needed to pull myself together on the train. Lip and cheek stain. Mascara. Eyelash curler. I think I rallied all right.

If I’m going to be on the run–btw, I’m going to see Beyonce on Saturday, woot!–I might as well do it in a tutu, right?
