04 Feb Five Minutes.
I really get overwhelmed sometimes trying to stay on trop of things with my jobs, mentee and all the while plugging away on passion project–my blog.
I would love just five minutes to myself (word to #85 ) without having to answer to someone or being required to be somewhere. Bratty, I know.
If I’m being honest, I was really appreciative of de Blasio’s efforts to shut down NYC during #Juno. Even if it did end up being a little premature.
It was, what I hoped, anyway, a change to unplug my computers, not have my phone in my hand and maybe, just maybe, watch The Wire and drink Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur over ice in the comforts of my cozy apartment.
One of my bosses gave me the option of having a snow day and not working (from home, btw) but it turns out, there’s no such thing in the city.
Emails still came in, the parks stayed locked and the plows banged against the concert outside my window, still on the clock without any snow to move.
I did get to be a little kid of five minutes, though. Complete with a snow angel.
As luck would have it, without proper gloves or a hat (I was trying to be cute), five minutes out in the snow was about all I could stand.
