Fresh off of New York Fashion Week, I scoured over the makeup looks that the models wore down the Spring/Summer 2012 runways to try and spot the trends we can expect to see.

Ready? Let’s get into it.

‘No Makeup’ Makeup

Makeup artists working behind the scenes at The Row, Proenza Schouler, Doo.Ri all sent the models down the runways wearing minimal makeup. I love the androgynous look of the makeup the models are wearing with clean faces.

Candy Colored Lips

Neons are going to be big not just for spring clothing but for lipstick shades as well. Betsey Johnson’s models lips were covered in a bight pink while Richard Chai-Love choose blue and purple lips. Suno and Parabal Gurang went for a cool ombre effect with the lipstick.

Coral Lips

Considering that coral clothing will be all the rage this spring, it isn’t surprising that your lips would want to get in on the action like the models did at Katie Gallagher, J.Crew, Cushine et Ochs, and Jason Wu

Strong Brows

Not that this changes for me (big brows are always in style on my face), but I love that strong brows are making a come back this Spring like the models at Derek Lam, Donna Karen, Altuzarra, and L.A.M.B. wore down the runway.

60’s Eye Makeup

When I was backstage at Peter Som, makeup genius Tom Pecheux explained that the banana was back! A banana is a strong color in the crease of your eye in the shape of a banana like what was shown at The Blonds, Peter Som, Jeremy Scott, and Zac Posen.
