Meet Channing

Channing Hargrove is a New York-based editor and writer.

Channing is the Culture Editor at Grazia USA.

She has a decade of experience writing at the intersection of culture and style. Most recently, Channing was the Fashion News Editor at Refinery29, where she was one of the original creators of Unbothered, the brand’s fastest growing sub-brand for and by millennial Black women while reporting on industry happenings, hunting down exclusives, as well as hidden stories and breaking headlines. The Council of Fashion Designers of America named her someone who is ‘Making Their Mark: Black Forces In Fashion.’ She’s also written for ELLE, PAPER, teenVOGUE, New York Magazine’s The Cut, and Racked. Channing has a curiosity surrounding the way we adorn ourselves and seeks to tell those stories in her work.

This website, Channing in the City, began as a personal blog, her guide to the New York City, where she occasionally typed monthly love letters, went inside stylish residents’ closets, and made videos. But mostly, she shared tidbits of her daily life living in a tiny studio in a big city. Like, that one time there was a mouse in her apartment — eep!
